Unfortunately Shooting The Sun hasn't made it to Keswick and so we'll be showing Welcome on Saturday at 7pm in The Theatre By The Lake instead.

The 11th Keswick Film Festival Is Here

There are nearly 40 films on offer as we take over the Alhambra and Theatre By The Lake for four days of films. It all starts at 6:30pm tonight with an opening party for pass holders followed by the first film, The World is Big and Salvation Lurks Around the Corner at 7:30pm. Other highlights include the films of guests Jan Dunn (Gypo, The Calling) and Tony Grisoni (The Unloved, Tideland, Brothers Of The Head) with Q&As, the 2nd Cumbrian Short Film Awards and live musical accompaniment to My Best Girl.

Programme Changes

We've changed the times of some of the films showing in the Studio to give people time to move from the earlier films in the Alhambra and Theatre.
  • Gypo will now start at 16:45 on Saturday 27th

Festival Timelime

The film festival passes are selling well and the preparations are nearly done. Some of the films are starting to arrive and our guests Jan Dunn, Tony Grisoni, the Poussins plus Jan from the BFI archive, the Gardner sisters, who will be playing along with our silent film and, we hope, Ian Hawkins and Francisco Roya will all be here.

One of our Film Club attendees has sent us a Timeline which shows options of which films you can get to, when you have time for a cup of coffee - and that two of our films overlap. We are looking to change that but meanwhile I hope you will find the Timeline useful.

So get your tickets, book your accommodation - that should be easier this year as we have avoided half term - and make your arrangements. Yesterday was bright sunshine and like Spring and whilst we can't guarantee you that, we can guarantee you a great Film Festival

See you in a few weeks
